London is not just about all the well known attractions – it also houses fantastic special exhibitions each year. We take a look at five of the best new exhibitions available this summer.

Into the Unknown: A journey through Science Fiction is dramatic, lively and entertaining.
Art lovers flock to the Royal Academy each summer for its annual Summer Exhibition. This is one of the much loved events each year, with amateur artists hoping to exhibit alongside professional and well known names. Thousands of works are submitted for consideration – with over 1,000 making it onto the walls of the Royal Academy. Every type of art can be seen. You can guarantee an incredibly eclectic display with landscapes, abstracts, graphic art, portraits, animals, installations in fact everything imaginable.
Not too far from beautiful Presidential Apartments Kensington is The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace which will be focusing on Canaletto and the Art of Venice. The Royal Collection is renowned worldwide for the sheer number of masterpieces involved, and this exhibition contains some of the best examples. Among the paintings on display will be Canaletto’s beautiful The Bacino di S.Marco on Ascension Day as well as other Canaletto’s showing scenes of the city’s piazza and waterways. In total over 200 paintings, drawings and prints will be on display featuring Canaletto and other contemporary artists such as Pietro Longhi and Giovanni Battista Piazzetta.
