If you’re visiting London over the Festive Season, there are plenty of things to do to keep small children amused and happy. Most importantly, choose accommodation in Central London serviced apartments, such as Presidential Apartments Kensington, so that you are located perfectly to access all areas easily by Tube, bus, or on foot.
Here are just a few of the great events and attractions on this winter for helping to bring forth the magic of Christmas in London for your little ones ... and this is but a small sample of what is on in London for small children this Festive Season.
Father Christmas at the Royal Albert Hall
Minutes stroll or a quick hop on tube away from your Kensington Serviced Apartments, join a festive Christmas tour for Victorian-themed activities and stories suited to children aged over two years. There will be an opportunity for littlies to make their own decorations and cards, before visiting Santa Claus in his grotto and receiving a Christmas stocking of goodies. Operates from December 7-24.
Christmas at Kew Gardens
From November 25 to January 2, Kew Gardens will be lit up into a magical Christmas wonderland, with a mile-long festive trail past twinkling lights, dancing fountains, holly bushes, a scented fire garden, and plenty of Christmas trees. The trail includes vintage rides, Santa’s Snowflake Grotto, festive fare, and gifts galore.
The Bear
This beautiful new adaptation of Raymond Briggs’ tale incorporates puppetry and is perfectly suited to children aged between four and eight. Presented at the Albany Theatre in New Cross between December 7 and January 3, it tells the story of a snowy bear that climbs into Tilly’s bedroom via her window and takes her on a magical adventure.
Christmas at London Zoo
Visit the zoo at Regent’s Park between December 5 and 24 to help the resident animals enjoy Christmas too! Children are invited to help make Christmassy treats for some of the animals, as well as to visit Santa in his grotto.
Harrods Christmas Grotto
You will require a ticket to see Santa at Harrods’ Grotto between now and Christmas Eve, but it is an experience worth having. 5 minutes away on Piccadilly Line from Earls Court Tube Station next to your Presidential Aparthotels London, a Classic Visit incorporates a journey through Santa’s toy workshop (each child receives a gift). There are also Afternoon Tea packages and Dining Experiences in the Grotto Cafe. There are special times designated to children aged less than four years.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
From November 20 to January 3, Hyde Park is transformed into a magical wonderland with circuses, an Ice Kingdom, an Ice Rink, fairground rides, Santa Land, markets, and much more. It has to be seen and experienced to be believed – it is a must for your Christmas in London activity list.
